Taste & quality trump price

Taste and quality are the top purchase drivers in the snacks category, ahead of price.

Snack purchases are planned

3 in 5 snack purchases are planned, with savoury purchases like Crackers and Chips the most likely to be planned.

Snack consumption is occasion-based

Customers snack as they watch TV (54%) or socially at get togethers (48%), when entertaining guests (43%) or celebrating a special occasion (40%).

Sub-Category Spotlight - Lollies

2 in 3

customers purchase lollies fortnightly.

Lolly

purchases are almost equally planned (54%) and impulse driven (46%).
